1 VIRTUALIZED DATABASE PERFORMANCE COMPARISON: DELL POWEREDGE R815 VS. TWO HP PROLIANT DL380 G7s OUR FINDINGS Multi-socket servers using multi-core processors coupled with the latest virtualization technologies enable companies to consolidate large numbers of production database servers onto a small number of physical systems. In Principled Technologies tests in our labs, a four-socket Dell PowerEdge R815 server with AMD Opteron processors Model 6174 demonstrated significantly better virtualized database priceperformance than a pair of two-socket HP ProLiant DL380 G7 servers with Intel Xeon Processor X5670s, with lower price, better performance, and lower active power. 1 OUR PROCESS We used the open-source DVD Store Version 2 benchmark to provide a workload representative of many real-world database applications. With it, we measured the performance and power of the two servers, each of which was running Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2.
Each server ran 48 virtual machines (VMs) using Hyper-V. We measured the performance and energy consumption of both servers, then used the list prices of the systems to develop a priceperformance metric. 1 Based on DVD Store Version 2 testing conducted by Principled Technologies, Inc., and reported in Virtualized database performance comparison: Dell PowerEdge, comparing Dell PowerEdge R815 server with AMD Opteron processors Model 6174 and HP ProLiant DL380 G7 servers with Intel Xeon Processor X5670s, (tested one physical HP ProLiant DL380 G7and doubled its results to represent a configuration of two servers),an August 2010 report commissioned by Dell Inc. For details, see HPvirtdatabase0810.pdf. AUGUST 2010 A PRINCIPLED TECHNOLOGIES TEST REPORT Commissioned by Dell Inc.
2 PROJECT OVERVIEW We tested the following servers and processors: Four-socket Dell PowerEdge R815 server with AMD Opteron processors Model 6174 Two-socket HP ProLiant DL380 G7 server with Intel Xeon Processor X5670s For testing, each server ran 48 virtual machines with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2. The goal of this report is to show the virtualized performance difference, the active power usage difference, and the price-performance difference one can expect between the Dell PowerEdge R815 server and two HP ProLiant DL380 G7 servers. Note that we tested only one physical HP ProLiant DL380 G7. We then doubled its results to represent a configuration of two servers.
WHAT WE TESTED To build the workload, we used DVD Store Version 2 (DS2), an open-source simulation of an online e- commerce DVD store. DS2 has database components and Web server components, and includes driver programs that put heavy loads on these components. We used the included driver program to stress the database component. Each server under test ran one Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 instance per VM.
We configured each SQL Server 2008 R2 instance with a 2.5GB database. By combining multiple virtual machines, all running a CPU, memory, and disk-intensive workload, the test placed a heavy load on both servers CPUs. Thus, it measured the performance of the server, especially as it relates to an active online transaction processing (OLTP) environment. The main DS2 metric is average orders per minute (OPM) over the duration of the test, which the driver program calculates and reports via the Windows Performance Monitor utility and the command-line output on the client machines.

We used the output from the driver program to record OPM, and we report the last OPM score the benchmark reported. When DS2 is executing, simulated customers log in; browse movies by actor, title, or category; and purchase movies. Each DS2 order consists of a customer login, a number of searches for movies, and a purchase. Each search is by either title, actor, or category. The title and actor searches use full-text search.
The other customer actions, including adding new customers, exercise a wide range of database functions. As we note above, because our goal was to isolate and test database server performance, we did not use the front-end Web client component of DS2. Instead, we ran the included driver application on client A Principled Technologies test report 2 3 machines directly via its command-line interface. We used the default DS2 parameters and setup configuration, with the exceptions we note in the Setting up DVD Store section in the How we tested section of this report. Each client machine ran a single instance of DS2, with 32 threads. This simulated a heavily loaded environment; the load-generating client machines ran with no think time, blasting requests as quickly as the servers could handle them. The DS2 driver application creates an orders-per-minute performance counter on the client VM.
While the DVD Store client application outputs OPM at 10-second intervals visually, we chose to collect this OPM metric by using the last recorded OPM amount displayed by each client. We ran this workload on the both servers virtual machines simultaneously for 30 minutes. For more details about the DS2 tool, see SYSTEM COMPARISON Figure 1 shows a side-by-side comparison of the key hardware differences between the test servers. Note that the Dell PowerEdge R815 server supports 512 GB of RAM, double that of an HP ProLiant DL380 G7 server.

AMD is reportedly providing platform (chipset) drivers for its upcoming socket AM4 platform, for the ageing Windows 7 operating system. This is noteworthy as rival Intel isn't providing Windows 7 drivers for its 200-series chipset, which drives the Core 'Kaby Lake' processors, and the onboard graphics of Core 'Kaby Lake' processors. Graphics drivers by AMD could power integrated graphics cores of the 7th generation A-series 'Bristol Ridge' APUs, and the three socket AM4 chipsets - A320, B350, and X370. Your looking at this from a personal perspective. For many medium to large businesses the idea of transitioning to a new OS is scary. Contrary to what some believe, businesses do try to keep up with the times as hardware has continued to evolve. Intel is attempting to force the hand of many to use Windows 10 if they want to embrace their technology going forward. Hanuman bhajans by gulshan kumar mp3.
I know from personal experience that several of the more specialized applications that I see used on a daily basis still have difficulty working properly in Windows 10. Sure we could blame the software manufacturer, but a company should never NEED to upgrade unless they feel confident in the transition. Your looking at this from a personal perspective. Sure we could blame the software manufacturer, but a company should never NEED to upgrade unless they feel confident in the transition. Just today i had to fiddle with an computer that runs windows XP, the new operating system on that machine is windows 7. For many industrial systems that is located on isolated networks old machines that run XP is actually more of a norm, this is especially true for HMI systems where the computer only works as the buttons and indication on the system where a PLC handles all the actual work. Have installed work related programs on ONE computer with windows 10, the rest have been windows XP or 7. These systems can run for 10 to 25 years without problems, and when the problems come its usually the hardware itself that has a problem and needs to be replaced, migrating the applications is not always possible and you end up needing hardware that support older windows installations. But this isn't about us! There lots of big business still with Enterprise Win7, and many aren't looking to change anytime soon. Such enterprise customers have custom support agreements with Microsoft and are willing to pay the steep price to keep that play, as a changing all their hardware is way more costly. They'll opt for Premium Support agreement, allowing special updates well after the end of official support. While here companies can slowly change over to AMD hardware and when they drop Win7 such hardware is still upgradeable. Perhaps this AMD's incentive IDK. If you are a retard then anything proven and working perfectly should be discontinued.
Oh, wait, why? Maybe you like how ugly W10 is? Or maybe the fact that it's spying on you and you cannot disable that? Or maybe uncontrollable updates which impede one's workflow?
Ati Es1000 Drivers Windows 10
Or it's Windows Defender which cannot be disabled? Exactly, there isn't a single game which is exclusive to D3D12. Everything runs fine on W7. So how exactly W10 is better than W7 other than it's new? Go f.ck off when light doesn't shine with your abomination called W10.

It might be the most used OS, but it definitely isn't outselling Windows 10. If that was the case, chart wouldn't have the Win7 line going down and the Win10 line going up. They both would be going up, and the Win7 line would be going up much steeper than the Win10. I can definitely see why AMD is supporting Win7, but I can't see any good reason why someone would put Win7 on a new computer. After using Win 8/8/1 and not 10, I hate working on Windows 7 computers.
Windows 7 just feels so old, and I actually miss some of the things that I use all the time in Windows 10. It kind of feels like when Win7 was the new hotness and I had to go back to work on XP machines.
